Tijuana Festival at the Beach

Festival Tijuana en la Playa

Date: July 24 – 26, 2015

Place: Malecon (boardwalk) in Playas de Tijuana

The festival will showcase food, music, art and culture of the San Diego-Tijuana border region. There will be three pavilions with different foods, vendors and  services available to visitors. Items for sale and services include foods of the region, travel and tourism, massage, clothing, and beach accessories. Exhibitions and activities include paintings, sculpture and body paint, among others.

Other activities include:
 – dog parade    – volleyball tournament    – body boarding competition
 – surfing exhibition    – skateboarding exhibition    – Zonkey photos  
 – sand castle building    – swimwear show (men and women)    – many more!

Playas de Tijuana is located approximately 8 miles from the San Ysidro / El Chaparral border crossing. The drive takes only about 10 minutes along the international highway. Taxis from the border are available for approximately $10 USD.

Festival – Playas de Tijuana

It is again time for the Playas Festival!  This is a festival that takes place in several areas in Playas de Tijuana including the Casa de la Cultura, Parque Mexico and the Malecon (boardwalk)

March 19th – 22nd    
Entrance is free
There will be food, music, fun, crafts, and exhibits.  Some highlights are below:

March 19 – 
Casa de la Cultura 
– Danzon Encounter in the Los Arcos room
– Photography exhibit: ‘Playas a través de lente’ in the Álvarez Malo gallery.

March 20 – 
– Parade in honor of the arrival of Spring
   Starts at Parque México and terminates at Casa de la Cultura Playas. 
– Bohemian Night  of fun, games and food starts at 7:00 p.m.

March 21 – 
Beach walk starting at 8:00am – Salvemos la Playas an effort to clean up the beach.
Fair with live music and games at Parque Mexico during the evening
 
March 22 – 
Classic cars exhibition
Race along Avenida del Pacifico

Playas de Tijuana is a quick drive from the El Chaparral crossing (San Ysidro).  Taxi Libre is available for about $10 US or the Ruta is available for about $1 US.
